Koolfog high-pressure misting and humidification nozzles are engineered to deliver water particles perfectly sized for evaporation. We produce a dry fog – a fog that evaporates and does not wet the surrounding area.
Intently focused on anti-drip technology in our nozzle line allows Koolfog to create a unique position within the misting and humidification industry, creating standards in an early adopter market that is plagued with misinformation and confusion.Dry fog seems a bit of an oxymoron, however, as high pressure pushes against the water through an orifice smaller than the size of a human hair, the water particles split into tiny pieces, quickly evaporating into the air long before it reaches any surface, a process called atomization.
The secret in Koolfog’s effective cooling techniques is found in natural settings, such as waterfalls and streams, but recreated with a higher range of control along with varied aesthetic and practical uses.
Evaporative cooling, felt at the base of any large waterfall, can be broken down as this: think of air as its own mini environment; it has limits of time and space but also contains a certain amount of capacity as well. As energy builds up within the air environment, higher temperatures are felt. When tiny water particles are introduced into the system, the existing energy immediately recognizes a use: to convert the liquid into gas. As more pure water particles are introduced, the lower the capacity within the air environment gets and greater amounts of energy are replaced with humidity, or those little tiny water particles. As this energy, or in this case heat, is quickly replaced with water, the air temperatures lower substantially, often up to 35 degrees depending on the existing humidity and temperature levels. The hotter and dryer it is, the greater possible temperature reductions can be. This process is only successful at creating such dramatic temperature drops with high-pressure pump technology, thoughtfully machined nozzles clear of shavings or deposits and atomization lines constructed with careful welding and thorough inspection.Each of Koolfog misting nozzles or humidification nozzles has a two part anti-drip capability – a feature we believe to be critical and a standard that is not followed unanimously within the high-pressure misting system industry. Each nozzle contains a check valve, or a spring that pushes a ball against the nozzle orifice path to close when the water is off. We also have added a discharge solenoid valve, located within the pump that releases the built up pressure within the atomization lines that would otherwise drip through the nozzles until dissipated. Both components act as a check and balance system to ensure an anti-drip system.
