Koolfog Atacama High-pressure Misting Pump
The Atacama is our commercial, industrial high-pressure pump line and is designed for the most sophisticated & high-volume misting and humidification applications. The Atacama is offered in flow rates from 3 gpm to 25+ gpm.

Engineering ingenuity went into designing the kinds of needs for such high demand with the thought of efficiency and sustaining demand in mind. The option of operating with a variable drive frequency adjusts the motor speed drive based on demand or zoning. The dual high volume water filter quickly clears the water of deposits that could potentially obstruct the nozzles and each and every one of these high pressure misting pumps is custom designed for its use. Due to the nature of high volume misting or fog, we've added a basic feature set that is tailored to commercial and industrial use. All Koolfog Atacama high-pressure fog pumps are equipped with a thermal overload to protect against potential over-heating and thermal relief valves to add protection against premature seal failure by eliminating unanticipated heat build-up. Each high pressure misting pump comes equipped with 4 service gauges - two glycerin filled inlet gauges that monitor incoming supply and actual water supply to the pump unit, one discharge gauge monitoring output pressure and an hour meter to provide hours of use for preventative maintenance scheduling. A regulator/unloader monitors discharge pressure to bypass any unused flow while a pulsation dampener minimizes wear and tear on components caused by pulsations in discharge pressure. And a safety relief valve is a back up beyond the existing pressure protection.
For the more sophisticated applications in special effects, humidification, or multi-zone misting applications, we've added PLC control to our high pressure misting pumps and high pressure fog pumps for variable input and outputs. Along with the safety mechanisms in place, a PLC control assures that creating high amounts of mist and fog is not only possible but sustainable and controllable.
Named after what's considered by National Geographic the driest region in the world, the Atacama High Pressure Pump's features mimic the impressive nature of the arid climate located in South America. The Atacama Desert is a region of particular interest due to its alikeness to Mars' soil composition, which NASA has utilized for testing mission operations and equipment for future trips to the infamous red planet. The magnitude of dry heat for this area is evident by the 120,000 years of dry river beds. There have been some weather stations that have never felt a rain drop and there is evidence to suggest that no significant rain fell from 1570-1971. This desert holds the secret of future research for planetary missions, secrets of adaptability found in the local flora and fauna and the utter sublimity nature can provide. We chose to name our leader in industrial, commercial and humidification fog applications after these sentiments to offer ingenuity and high quality for the future of comfort and atmospheric markets. We mimic the biological adaptability of the Atacama by the adaptability we've meticulously engineered to high volume applications while honoring the sublime creativity found in nature to reflect the infinite possibilities for these high pressure misting pumps.
